Robert Fletcher and his nine-year-old alpaca Hephner have made the journey by road and sea from Gosford, in NSW, to hit the streets in Tasmania in a bid to raise awareness for suicide prevention and mental health.
After a "seamless" trip across the Bass Strait, the duo made it to the North-West Coast on Wednesday and will spend the next two weeks travelling around the state.
After losing a friend to suicide in 2017, Mr Fletcher said the pair started travelling around the country to "do their bit" and fundraise for mental health charities.
"I think I just felt like I needed to do something, no matter what it was," Mr Fletcher said.
"It's just about having conversations with people."
During the next two weeks Mr Fletcher will be touring around with Hephner and using him as the ultimate "conversation starter" to raise money for Dolly's Dream.
For Hephner, it's his first time visiting Tasmania.
Mr Fletcher said the "novel" way of fundraising had been a great way to spread awareness for suicide prevention.

"People approach you and ask you what you're doing, that's my opportunity to spread the message," he said.
In previous years, Mr Fletcher and Hephner have raised money for Lifeline and Beyond Blue.
During this travellers Hephner has amassed quite the following on social media and often takes bookings for weddings, hen's nights and events.
He was the centre of attention as he walked the streets of Burnie on Thursday with locals stopping for selfies and a pat.
In his spare time Hephner loves going to the beach and having a bath.
Mr Fletcher said he would have to be on of the most well travelled alpacas in the world.

"He's amazing, just one of a kind," Mr Fletcher said.
Since arriving in Tasmania, Mr Fletcher said they'd had a "great response".
"Whether you raise $1000 or $10,000, if someone makes a call after you have a conversation with them, then that's what it's all about," Mr Fletcher said.
"It's just about having those conversations with people."
