The balaclava-clad man allegedly broke into a Seville Grove service station, in south-east Perth, through a ceiling panel at 1am on July 11.
Security footage showed the man gently lowering himself from the roof space above a display fridge and crawling on all fours across the shop floor.
The alleged burglar appeared to be avoiding security cameras but misjudged his visibility.

Western Australia Police said he robbed the Lake Road shop and fled the scene on a pushbike.
