The Polestar 2's discounted prices have been extended into the new financial year, remaining in place until the end of September – more than three months beyond when the sharper prices were originally due to end.

In May, Polestar Australia announced price reductions varying from $5000 to $15,000 for certain examples of the Polestar 2, amid comparatively low sales for the electric liftback.
While the lower prices were only meant to last until June 9, the offer has been extended to September 30.
The Standard Range Single Motor features a 69kWh battery and has a claimed driving range of 532km. Long Range variants upgrade to an 82kWh battery, delivering 654km of claimed range in Single Motor guise and 591km for the Dual Motor.
Though the Polestar 2 Standard Range Single Motor doesn't undercut the base price of the similarly sized Tesla Model 3 – still remaining at a $2500 premium – the Long Range Single Motor offers significant range for its sticker price.
The Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor is just $1500 more than the Standard Range after the limited-time discounts, having received the largest cut of $12,500.
Single motor Polestar 2s produce 200kW of power and 490Nm of torque, the Dual Motor increases this to 310kW/740Nm. Performance Pack examples get 350kW.
As reported earlier this week, a slightly updated version of the Polestar 2 – with added driving range and tweaked cosmetics – is due in Australia from September, though pricing is yet to be confirmed.
EV sales figures for the first six months of the year show 950 Polestar 2s have been sold in Australia through 2024, considerably less than the 10,600 Tesla Model 3s.
All prices exclude on-road costs.
