A South Australian failing to wear a properly adjusted and fastened seatbelt could expect a $537 fine and the loss of three demerit points.

NT

In the Northern Territory the fine for driving unbelted is $500 and three demerit points.

NSW

Drivers in NSW not strapped in face a $410 fine and at least the loss of three demerit points.

A $593 fine and four demerit points apply to Victorians caught using a device while driving.

In the Northern Territory the penalties for using a phone is a $500 fine and incurs three demerit points.

Tasmanian drivers could be fined at least $390 and slapped with three demerit points for playing with their phone while on the roads.

NSW

Motorists using a mobile phone while driving could be fined $387 and $514 in a school zone, as well as attracting five demerit points.
