An Australian man has died climbing Mount Everest after learning to walk again from injuries he sustained in a serious car accident.

Jason Kennison, 40, was attempting to climb the world's tallest mountain to raise money and awareness for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia.
The news of his death was shared on Facebook by his family "with absolute broken hearts".
Australian Ambassador to Nepal Felicity Volk said the embassy offered "heartfelt condolences" to Mr Kennison's family.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic event [and] continue to work with authorities to support Mr Kennison's family."
According to Mr Kennison's JustGiving page he had suffered "multiple traumatic injuries" in the 2006 road accident as a 23-year-old.

"My recovery journey was slow, but after a year of battling depression, countless hours of rehab and self-driven motivation, I started to see improvements both mentally and physically," he said.
"I first began to regain function in my arms and legs, and slowly started to learn to walk again."
The Perth local and former South Australian had so far raised more than $3500 for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia.
The charity works helps people living with spinal cord injury and other neuro conditions.
