Nine community groups across the Hume Electorate have received Federal funding to plant native trees to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

In the Southern Highlands, Hill Top Community Association, Bundanoon Community Association and Southern Highlands Carriage Club were awarded funds to undertake local tree planting projects.
In the Southern Tablelands, Bigga Progress Association, Rotary Club of Boorowa, Gunning District Landcare, and Goulburn and District Racing Club were also recepients.
Rounding of the nine community groups across the Hume electorate were Buxton Community Association and Camden RSL Sub-Branch.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor congratulated the successful local community groups for participating in the program.
"Almost $90,000 will be shared among the successful groups to undertake local tree-planting projects," he said.
"Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee is an historic occasion, marking 70 years of her reign as The Queen of Australia. This occasion deserves a fitting acknowledgement encompassing our nation's unique relationship with our Sovereign.
"The planting of trees will not only improve our local parks and amenities but will provide a lasting reminder for future generations of the Queen's great legacy."

The program provided each federal electorate up to $100,000 in grants for up to 10 projects nominated by the local Federal Member of Parliament in consultation with their local community.
It complements other initiatives occurring across the Commonwealth to mark The Queen's Jubilee, such as the tree planting initiative in the United Kingdom which is inviting people to "Plant a Tree for the Jubilee".

- Rotary Club of Boorowa - $7000
- Gunning District Landcare - $20,000
- Goulburn and District Racing Club - $5000
- Bundanoon Community Association - $6500
- Camden RSL Sub-Branch - $4000
