Katy Gallagher says her office was vandalised following Kimberly Kitching bullying allegations

Senator Gallagher told ABC Canberra Radio on Wednesday morning that allegations she was involved in bullying the deceased Labor senator were untrue.

"[These accusations] take [their] toll on then being on the front page, my office was vandalised ... I've received a lot of very unpleasant emails and feedback," she said.

"So I think you can understand how difficult that might be and my children have been involved as well."

However, the senator insisted she did not want to make the situation about herself and it had been a "tough time" for everyone involved.

"It's very hard ... to disagree, or have an alternate view, with someone who is no longer here and out of respect for Senator Kitching I have made no comments about some of the allegations that have been made about me," she said.

"I think everyone, not just in the Labor Party, but across parliament is deeply shocked and distressed by what happened."

This follows reports by the ABC and the Australian, which suggested Senator Kitching complained of being bullied by Senator Gallagher as well as senators Penny Wong and Kristina Keneally and disclosed the allegations to senior Labor figures before also alerting a parliament-based workplace trainer.

In a joint statement, the trio denied the accusations saying they will reflect on the way "robust and difficult" conversations can affect colleagues.

Senator Kitching died suddenly on March 10 following a heart attack at the age of 52.
