Clients of the service can now access virtual care by calling the hotline if they think they are positive for COVID-19 or have a COVID related question.
After originally launching on the South Coast, the Narooma-based organisation have just expanded the hotline to include members of the Aboriginal community in Goulburn and Queanbeyan.
You can call the hotline on 0490 539 293 or self-report if you have returned a positive COVID-19 result (PCR or RAT test) via this online form.
Katungul provides health care to the Koori people on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. It was first established when Ghuryungan, Markarling House and Narooma Community Centre - three Aboriginal communities - joined forces in 1993.
The service grew with growing demand, opening clinics in Batemans Bay and Bega. Outreach and specialist programs were also developed to serve surrounding areas and provide Aboriginal-specific health care.
Their vision is 'for Aboriginal people to live healthy lives enriched by a strong living culture, dignity and justice and for Katungul's work to be recognised as a driving force in achieving this.'
