A council spokesman said alterations would be made to the existing arrangement to accommodate four disability parking bays "with shared zones."
The work will be undertaken at night to avoid disruption to traffic. It will take place from Thursday, January 27 to Friday, February 4.

The southbound lane in the Auburn Street block between Montague and Verner Streets will be closed at 5pm daily with detours in place until 5am the following day.
Existing car parks will be closed off at all times during the work.
The council was required to create additional disabled car park spaces for the soon to be opened Performing Arts Centre adjoining the Post Office.
Under the 2017 Joint Regional Planning Panel approval, the council had to submit a traffic management plan detailing where these would be created adjacent to the site, as well as how bus drop-off and set-down would be managed.

Last November, councillors agreed the existing bus stop outside the National Australia bank should relocate to in front of the government office block, on the PAC's southern side.
These and multiple other works had to be completed before a construction certificate could be issued.
The council is relying on off-street parking for the 400-seat, $18.9 million facility. This was an aspect that angered some business owners who voiced their concerns about the impact on their outlets before the centre was approved.
The PAC is due to open with a packed program of events across the weekend of March 25 and 26.
In other council news, Carrick Road is currently closed to the public to allow for construction of a bridge over Narranbulla Creek. A spokesman said the work would be completed in April.
Commuters south of the bridge site are still able to access the Hume Highway. However, those living north of the bridge trying to access Hume Highway are advised to follow Carrick Road north of the work zone and use Brayton Road instead.
