This forced the GDCA and the GDJCA to call off their scheduled matches, with the intention to return to action on Saturday, November 20.
"Great weather for ducks, unfortunately not so for cricketers," the GDJCA wrote in a Facebook post on Friday night.
"Council has advised us the grounds won't be open for Goulburn matches this weekend."
The current rain showers are predicted to continue late into next week, but appear to ease towards the weekend.
The full draws for the local senior and junior cricket competitions can be found on the association websites.
Meanwhile, there was also an update to the senior cricket schedule, announced on Friday with regards to the postponement of the T20 competition to the weekend of January 15.
This was due to a conflict with the second round of the Burns Cup, which is slated for January 9. To compensate, round nine of the local competition will be pulled back to January 8, while the T20 Cup will be delayed by a week.
Goulburn will face Yass in the first two rounds of the Burns Cup. The winner the Monaro pool will progress to the final against the winner of the Far South Coast pool on January 30.
