And while Vegemite and cheese can surely be added to that list, now the iconic breakfast spread has launched another.
Vegemite has teamed up with Thongs Australia to launch 100 per cent Aussie-made Vegemite-branded thongs.
"Vegemite understands just how important a quality pair of Aussie mates are, so we have teamed up with our great mates at Thongs Australia to bring you an iconic Aussie pairing," said Jacqui Roth, Vegemite marketing manager.
Anthony Wright, director of Thongs Australia, said the company was focused on "premium quality products that feel good and do good".
"We're bringing the iconic thongs back to Australian soil, and what could be more iconic than Vegemite Thongs?"
Australian Made campaign chief executive Ben Lazzaro said it was "fantastic to see this pairing of iconic Australian products celebrating their Aussie credentials in this way".
"Australian Made products are famous for their quality and reliability, and local manufacturers like these create Aussie jobs and support our economy.
"I suspect the Vegemite Thongs will be the 'must-have' Aussie fashion item this summer!"
The Vegemite-branded thongs are now available through the "Mitey Merch" online store, just in time for summer, to protect your feet from the hot Aussie sand. (Although Vegemite knows that thongs are appropriate footwear any time of year)
