This month's championship shoot was delayed for one week by a majority consensus due to the COVID lockdown and shooters wishing to have a practice shoot to get back into the swing of things.
Sunday, October 24, was the sixth competitive shoot for this year.
The day was a pleasant 18 degrees and the sky was clear. The wind conditions were good, with some little gusts thrown in here and there. breeze was also very tricky, but there were times that the flags were still enough to get a few shots off.
The club had shooters on Sunday with Richard Brodie shooting both bench rest and prone.
Scores for the competitors were:
- Richard Brodie - shooting bench rest, scored 199 with 15 centrals
- Rob Eager - shooting bench rest, scored 198 with 15 centrals
- Charlie Watts - shooting bench rest, scored 197 with 13 centrals
- Ivan Wilson - shooting bench rest, scored 197 with 12 centrals
- David Wright - shooting prone, scored 196 with 8 centrals
- Kylie Watts - shooting bench rest, scored 195 with 7 centrals
- Richard Brodie - shooting prone, scored 197 with 10 centrals
The club also had three members selected in the NSW Benchrest postal team: Charlie Watts (Junior), Kylie Watts, and Tony Weston.
This competition has been condensed to three 60-shot matches due to COVID lockdowns, to be shot at your home range.
Kylie and Charlie have shot the first of their three matches with excellent scores. Charlie scored 594 with 36 centrals out of a possible 600 with 60 centrals, while Kylie shot 597 with 44 centrals out of a possible 600 with 60 centrals.
This is great shooting from both competitors, and they are both looking forward to the next round.
This a year has been a challenge with COVID, but the club has implemented a COVID safety plan to protect its members.
