A search is underway for a couple who haven't been seen since setting off on a boat trip along the Murray River two days ago near the NSW-Victorian border.

The man and woman set off down the river in a small boat about noon on Saturday.
They were reported missing about 8.45pm on Sunday, after telling a friend they were lost near Womboota, just north of the border.
A search is underway in the Perricoota State Forest for the couple involving police, SES volunteers and NSW Forestry.
