The 23-year-old TCA Cooling and Heating air-conditioning servicing technician initially wanted the Pfizer vaccine.

"It looked like that would take some time so I thought I was best off just getting it done before it got to a point where things were running behind," he said.

Instead he opted for his first AstraZeneca jab on September 16 to protect not just himself but those around him. Four of his similarly aged co-workers have also had their first dose out of choice.

Other friends have chosen to protect themselves from COVID-19.

"Most people will get the vaccine, so why delay?" Gus asked.

"Ninety per cent of my age group want it and there's only a select few that don't, but that's up to them."

But it's not the same for everyone.

Marima Medical Clinic practice manager Kim Weeks said COVID-19 had been an "eye-opener" in her 35 years in the industry.

"We are getting a lot of resentful people because some employers are making vaccination a requirement. It poses a dilemma for us," she said.

However Mrs Weeks said more people were opting for the jab due to rising case numbers in Goulburn and their employment. This has created a "bottleneck."

"(But) we need to dispel the myth that supply and access is an issue," she said.

The clinic administers about 400 vaccinations (AstraZeneca and Pfizer) per week. There is no waiting list. Mrs Weeks said while most people wanted Pfizer, she believed "the tide was turning back to AstraZeneca."

Bradfordville Family Medical Centre and Goulburn Medical Clinic are also administering vaccines.

In addition, some pharmacies are delivering AstraZeneca and the new Moderna vaccine.

A vaccination hub has established at the former government offices at 211 Bourke Street. On Sunday it will host a walk-in Pfizer clinic from 10am, with 300 vaccinations available.

Elsewhere, Goulburn Health Hub director Sophie Ashton said the facility had only been administering Pfizer for the past two weeks.

"There has been a total influx of young people," she said.

"It's like hotcakes. Every Pfizer appointment is being taken immediately by the younger population."

Last week the Hub administered 300 Pfizers. AstraZeneca appointments had dropped off but with more COVID cases in Goulburn, people were bringing forward the second vaccine within the four to eight week recommended window. About 150 are being delivered weekly.

As of September 27 Goulburn Mulwarree LGA has reached 82.3 per cent single dose vaccinations and 52.6 per cent double dose.

The council area recorded five new COVID cases on Tuesday, taking the total to 34 in the past 30 days.
