Goulburn local Brittany Bryant hopes to be crowned as the Lilac Queen this year.

She is not the only one in her family who has aspired to win the title.
In 1971, her grandmother Dianna Bryant was one of the contenders who was later crowned as the Lilac Queen.
"This year will mark the 50th year since my grandmother won the Lilac Queen crown and it will be a great year to win the crown and keep it in the family," she said.

"When I told my grandmother that I will be participating in the competition, she was very excited and happy to support me."
Ms Bryant is raising funds for Headspace Goulburn as she feels that the organisation can make a difference and help the youth.
"As a teen, I had low self-esteem. Headspace helped me work out my emotions and get my feet back on the ground," Ms Bryant said.
"I would like to help other young people like me find that balance."
Meanwhile, there are three candidates running for the title of Lilac Queen in the upcoming Lilac City Festival this year.
"I think it is wonderful for 2021 to have three awesome women that have risen to the challenge to be a candidate for Lilac Queen this year. It is fantastic for Goulburn to be able to get behind these three ladies and look forward to a positive festival at a time when we are in the midst of a pandemic with restrictions," said Daniel Strickland, Vice President of The Lilac City Festival.
One of the candidates Jenna D'Apice moved to Goulburn at the start of the year and fell in love with the city.
Another candidate Shanay Little used to enjoy spending time at the festival with her family and friends while growing up and looked forward to watching the parade.
The winner will win a holiday for two at Mantra Gold Coast, get a professional photo done and will get invited to various community events.
Lilac City Festival is Australia's longest-running community festival held over a period of three days.
