The workshop was well attended by local land managers who braved the crisp conditions.

James Diack from Soils for Life, along with his colleague, Kristy Yeates, gave a highly informative presentation explaining the soil-water-plant system, and soil structure and texture theory. The presentation was followed by a practical, hands-on session where landholders were guided through examining their own soil samples for structural integrity, soil texture and pH.
The group functioned well together with a sense of community, respectful knowledge sharing, learning and support. Feedback from the group was very positive, with all feedback respondents willing to recommend future workshops to other land managers.
This workshop is one of a series of workshops planned for the year which focus on addressing the interests and needs of local farmers. With hot topics such as climate change, farming resilience and carbon farming constantly being debated in the broader media, regenerative resilient agriculture is on the minds of many.
Today's land managers are seeking to expand their skills and knowledge to address their changing needs and this particular group of graziers and farmers are seeking more information on soil health and fertility, pasture and grazing management, property planning, carbon sequestration, vegetation management and landscape water management. Future workshop topics will focus on addressing these interests with the help of presenters who are working at the forefront of regenerative agriculture.
Landcare Goulburn Mulwaree hope to further expand the group and form alliances with other organisations seeking to support land managers in their journey to improved resilience.
