Over two thousand supporters and players packed the Cookbundoon Soccer Fields each day over the three days of the weekend where one hundred and sixty games were played in the Southern Branch Soccer Championships.

All games were of a high standard and this was the case in the u12 girls competition where the local girls took on Shoalhaven in their first ever representative game.
The Shoalhaven side were bigger and faster than the local girls and lead by two goals inside ten minutes.

After this, the home side settled down and started to make their way back into the game and in the 21st minute, left winger Ella Pearson broke free and with a powerful left foot found the back of the net to pull a goal back.
The teams went to the half time break with Shoalhaven leading 3-1.
In the second half Ella scored her second and the score remained at 2-3 for most of the half, but with just three to go Shoalhaven hit back to win the game 4-2.
In their second game of the day, the home team played Eurobodalla and earnt a well deserved 2-0 win.
Ella scored her third goal of the day from the penalty spot and Holiday netted her first rep representative team goal.
The u12 girls started off day two on the Sunday with a 1-0 win over Eurobodalla who had improved from day one.
Holiday Burke scored in the 15th minute of the first half.
The local did well to hang on to that lead as two players were injured and the team played with nine players for about five minutes.
Their last game of the day was against Shoalhaven again and a win would make them winners of the Championships.
In what was a great game, they had to settle for a one all draw and that meant both Shoalhaven and the local team finished on equal points.
However, Shoalhaven won on goal difference.
Ella scored in the fourth minute of the game to take her tally of goals to four for the weekend.
A highlight of the Championships was right back Ava Nicholson was named winner of the Ray Tweedie Medal as the best player of the Championships.
Ava plays for the Crookwell u13 side.
She is a talented player with good instincts and is a steady reliable player in defence.
In other results, the local u11 boys and u14 boys were crowned Southern champions Champions while the u14 B girls were runners up.
