A man has been charged over the alleged murder of a woman near Nowra yesterday.

About 11.20am (Friday 11 June 2021), emergency services were called to Comerong Island Road, Numbaa, about 10km east of Nowra, following reports a woman's body had been found by a family member after she couldn't be contacted.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived at the scene a short time later, where the 51-year-old woman was pronounced deceased.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, a 37-year-old man was arrested nearby a short time later.
He was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with murder.
The man was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Bail Court today (Saturday 12 June 2021).
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
