The Bulldogs co-coach got proceedings underway quickly on Saturday at Yass's Walker Park and scored the first try of the game in the opening minutes.
He added two more at crucial points in the game, and was "definitely happy" with the end result. For his efforts, Greenwood was also named Player of the Match.
"I've never scored three tries in one game in my life," he said.
"It's the first time, and as a forward it doesn't get much better. I'm definitely happy personally, and happy for the boys as well. Every single person out on that field dug deep."
Throughout the 2021 season, the Bulldogs have held the lead in most matches, but have developed a habit of conceding a flurry of tries late.
This has cost them several victories, and Saturday's game threatened to go the same way early in the second half, after Goulburn went into the break with a 20-6 lead.
The Magpies scored a try early in the latter half and began to control possession, before Bulldogs centre Dillon Rota stopped the home side's momentum in its tracks.
"We touched on that in the sheds, we didn't want to come out and let them back in the game," Greenwood said.
"Unfortunately, the second tackle in the second half we hand over the ball, let them back in the game, and made it hard for ourselves.
"But as each game goes on, our attitude changes. A couple of weeks ago, we would've let them right back into the game. Hats off to the boys, they did everything I asked and I'm stoked."
The Bulldogs regained their composure quickly and scored two more tries to quickly put the game beyond doubt.
The win was Goulburn's second on the trot, and puts them into third on the Canberra Raiders Cup First Grade ladder, only behind the Queanbeyan Blues and Gungahlin Bulls.
The form the Bulldogs showed on Saturday, Greenwood believes, is good enough to beat any team in the competition.
"There's always room to keep getting better and improving, that's always the goal," he said.
"But I definitely think if that side came out today against those teams we lost to in the last couple of minutes, we come away with the win."
The Bulldogs will have yet another chance to test themselves next weekend, when they take on the Tuggeranong Bushrangers in their first home clash in over a month.
While Goulburn will go into the match as favourites on paper, the Bushrangers are fresh off an upset victory over the West Belconnen Warriors.
The match will take place at the Goulburn Workers Arena from 3pm on Saturday, June 19.
This weekend, June 12 and 13, will be a competition-wide bye due to the Queen's Birthday long weekend.
On Friday, June 25, the Goulburn City Bulldogs will host a Trivia Night to raise funds for the club. The event will begin from 6.30pm at the Astor, with tickets going at $25 per person for a table of six.
