In round eight, Chintan Trivedi's Panthers overcame Rod Blake's Eels 6-5, with the two involved in a five-set thriller which saw Trivedi eventually come out on top over an incredibly determined Blake.
Mark Soley's 88's continued their winning ways with a comprehensive 7-4 victory over Jack Gray's Rhinos. In this match, Lachlan Bill played well to defeat Leon Jensen in five sets and Robert McIntosh in three.
The final match was taken out by Michael Turner's Rabbitohs 6-5 over Richie Jiang's Eagles. Two five-setters saw Bagas Ariza defeat Gerard Gray 12-10 in the fifth set and Sam Dunn defeat his brother Matt.
In B Grade, the Dockers beat the Sharks 6-3 as John Green defeated Bill Smith in straight sets. The Jet Setters won by a similar margin over the Demons, with Sam Plumb winning in five sets over Elisa Chung.
The Pies let the Doggies out 7-4 with three entertaining five-setters seeing Qiana Betts defeat Tony McWhirter.
Leo Li overcame Kev Fitzgerald 12-10 in the fifth and Dave Howlett got some revenge for his team by defeating Leo 11-9 in the deciding set.
The final match saw the Storm rain on the Dragon's parade 8-3 with Peter Trama and Dave Manning both recording narrow five-set wins over fill-in Nicola Fraser.
Round 9 in the A Grade Teams competition saw Mark Soley's 88's lose their first match for the season. They went down 6-5 to Michael Turner's Rabbitohs, as Bagas Ariza outlasted Lachlan Bill in five sets.
Rod Blake's Eels clipped the wings of Richie Jiang's Eagles 7-4 with Simon Jiang recording impressive wins over Isaac Mavrolelfterou in five and Gerard Gray in straight sets.
The final match went to Jack Gray's Rhinos 7-4 over James Turner's Bulldogs. The match saw two nailbiting five-setters as Gray got past Turner and in the battle of the super veterans Robert McIntosh came from behind to overcome John Lees.
Round 9 in B Grade saw the Storm white-wash the Dickers 11-0. The best result saw Peter Trama defeat Madison Turner in five.
The Sharks grounded the Jet Setters 7-4, as Tommy Hailston defeating Simon McDonald in five sets and Bill Smith in three. Smith later pipped Nicola Fraser in five tough sets.
The Doggies snuffed out the Dragon's fire 6-5 with two five-setters going to Dave Howlett over Dave Manning and Tony McWhirter over Jacinta Bill.
The final B Grade match went to the Pies over the Demons 6-5 with exciting five-setters taken out by Elisa Chung over Phil Fraser and Tommy Hailston over Anne McGrourke.

Players are reminded that there is play at the centre between 10am and noon every Wednesday morning. All are welcomed to attend, from beginners to the more experienced.
Practice and social play is also held each Thursday and Friday nights at the John Lees Centre starting at 7pm. The centre is located on Sportsway off Finlay Road.
