Paddlers formed a circle with a line through it to express their opposition.
Byron Baes is described as a series following a ''feed' of hot Instagrammers living their best lives".
Many locals, including the mayor, don't want it filmed and say it's just the kind of attention the town doesn't need given the current housing affordability crisis.
A petition against the show has begun and some businesses are refusing to allow the crew to film on their premises.
