The Voices of Hume group on Monday released the report which was consolidated after feedback from hundreds of people regarding what they want from their politicians.

The group of residents in Hume electorate held 'kitchen table conversations' with 257 residents from five Local Government Areas - Goulburn Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan, Wingecarribee, Wollondilly and Camden - as part of a year-long campaign.
Voices of Hume Coordinator Matt Murfitt said that their aim is to support independent candidates who are looking to run in future elections.
"We tried to include a broader group and not restrict ourselves to a particular age group or political leaning. The questions that we posed to them were discussion starters. If someone has a different opinion, the meeting provides an opportunity for them to speak about that in a safe environment," Mr Murfitt said.
As part of the campaign, the residents were asked questions like what are the main issues in their community/electorate, what makes a good political representative, what are the best things about where they live and what makes a strong community.
The report reveals that the respondents have a desire to preserve the natural surroundings and prefer more transparency from government officials.

"There is a desire for better public service functions such as more consultative town planning, better planning of infrastructure and improved public transport," the report further states.
"A desire to see a concerted effort from politicians to foster a sense of community, inclusiveness and to support the community, its people and its local businesses."
The report further states that there was inherent importance placed on the cultural identity of historic towns such as Camden and Goulburn and the need to protect the heritage architecture of these towns.
"We are now calling for candidates, who represent the values outlined in the report, to make contact with us via our website," Mr Murfitt said.
The report is similar to the one created for Voices for Indi which had inputs from over 400 people for Indi.
