From March 23, St John Ambulance NSW will run first aid courses out of the Goulburn Workers Club. Courses will be available for members of the public and focus on encouraging people to learn first aid including life-saving techniques such as CPR, and how to use equipment like a defibrillator.

General manager of training Martin Thomas said first aid was something everyone should know how to do.
He said knowing how to treat an injury and administer effective CPR was a life saving skill.
"Everyone thinks it's much harder than it is," he said.
"The defibrillator equipment is incredibly user friendly - you really can't get it wrong."
"Everyone should have a go at learning first aid."
These skills are especially important for people living in regional and rural areas.
"I feel for the farmers out there often working by themselves, a chance accident can cause dire circumstances," Mr Thomas said.
"An ambulance isn't only 10 or 15 minutes down the road and that first hour is critical."
