A man, who was disqualified from driving until 2055, has been sentenced to jail after driving without a licence.

David John Campbell, 58, of Market Street, Goulburn, was convicted of driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period at Goulburn Local Court on March 17. Campbell appeared via audio visual link from custody. He was accused of driving while disqualified on January 15, 2021.

She said Campbell "drove away" after an argument with another person on January 15, 2021. The magistrate told the court police received complaints from the public about his driving before Campbell "drove into a ditch" and was arrested.
"You knew when you got into that car and drove out into the street that you weren't allowed to drive," she said.
"I think you disregarded everything and did what you wanted to do."
Solicitor Matt Adam said his client had "significant" medical and mental health issues.
"He clearly has issues with mental health and the compulsion to drive," he said.
He said Campbell had driven a "relatively short distance".
Magistrate Geraldine Beattie asked the defence why Campbell, who was disqualified from driving until 2055, had a car.
Mr Adam replied that his client had a "passion" for working on cars, but added: "It might be time he found a different hobby".
Campbell was sentenced to 11 months imprisonment with a non-parole period of eight months. He was disqualified from driving for a further 12 months until 2056.
