Women across the region will come together this weekend to share their experiences of surviving climate hardships like drought, fire, and flood.

The Survival: Her Story workshop, funded by Create-NSW Country Arts Support Program, will help these women share their stories that will later become a part of regional and family historical records.
These stories will also be attached to the Lieder Theatre's production in April of a new play The Interesting Mrs Abell by Annie Bilton. The play is about Betsy Abell, a woman survivor and heroine from Bungonia's Colonial history.
"We encourage women from the region to participate and tell us their stories. As part of the workshop, we will have a professional facilitator who will help to build these stories individually," Ms Bilton said.
"There are some women who feel uncomfortable sharing their story in a public space because there is too much pain from the memory of what they have been through.
"The professional facilitator will help in building and sharing their stories with others. These stories will either be recorded in written or audio form that will be later attached to the play."
The decision to attach these stories as part of The Interesting Mrs Abbell was made because Mrs Abbell was an early colonial settler and suffered hardships as her family lost everything in drought. "The stories too often fade away and I wanted to find a way to tell their stories in the future," she added.
Once the stories are recorded, they will be sent to families, communities, historical societies and CWAs among others so that it becomes a part of the regional records.
The workshop will be held in Crookwell CWA on February 13-14, 2021 from 10am-3pm.
