Following a tumultuous 2020 season, which was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 lockdowns, the association has planned a competition which spans roughly 20 weeks, and is set to begin in March.
Aside from the truncated competition lengths, COVID also wrought havoc with the makeup of several competitions, which led the GDHA to call off the First Division Men's competition last year, along with a number of others.
This year, the GDHA aims to have a full roster of competitions spanning all age groups.
The start dates for the upcoming competitions are as follows:
- First Division Women: Wednesday, March 3
- First Division Men: Thursday, March 4
- Second Division Women and Men: Saturday, March 6, and Sunday, March 7
- Third Division Women and Men: Saturday, March 6, and Sunday, March 7
- Under 15s and Under 18s: Friday, March 5
- Under 11s and Under 13s: Saturday, March 6
- Under 7s and Under 9s: Sunday, March 7
The semi-finals are scheduled for the last weekend in August, with grand finals to be held on Saturday, September 11.
The GHDA has advised those interested in playing but who don't have a team or club to email secretary@goulburnhockey.com.au.
