After the callout for expression of Interest by Upper Lachlan Shire Council towards the end of 2020, Rising Sun Health is the preferred tenderer for lease for the designated gym area.
While the lease is expected to be taken up in March, details regarding the opening dates of the gym will be decided after that.
The Upper Lachlan Shire Council had invited Expression of Interest from individuals or groups in 2020 who were interested in leasing the designated gym area in the Crookwell Memorial Oval Centre at Robertson Street.
The Memorial Oval Centre building was completed in 2019 and the gym sits on the south-west side of the Crookwell Memorial Oval Centre which adjoins the Crookwell Memorial Oval and has no prior users.
The 138.9sq/m purpose built gymnasium has been designed with a large active gymnasium/exercise area with air-conditioning and specialised flooring.
The Crookwell Memorial Oval complex and gymnasium was completed in September 2019 and has a gymnasium, locker rooms, bathrooms, canteen and storage rooms.
It even doubled up as offices for Upper Lachlan Shire Council staff during the Covid-19 pandemic to adhere to social distancing rules.
