The event raises funds for NSW Police Legacy and is named after the late senior constable Jim Affleck who was murdered on duty at Campbelltown in 2001.
Plenty flocked to the event including some of Affleck's former colleagues.
Pheasant Wood Circuit owner Steve Shelley said he has two family members in the NSW Police Force.
"I believe it's important that a NSW police officer like Affleck is always remembered," Shelley said.
"Our race facility will always support first responders and this event is part of several programs where we do what we can to support the NSW Police Legacy."
Five NSW serving and retired police officers were selected to compete against each other in specially developed race cars.
The event was a motorsport speed event where the drivers were given the opportunity to drive flat out in two race cars on timed hot laps, with the fastest combined timed hot laps declared the winner of the JA cup.
The winner was then given the opportunity to drive a full race version of a Toyota 86 against two professional race drivers known as the STAG (Special Track Ambassador Guy) and Mr Shelley for the chance to win track vouchers.
The Jim Affleck Cup event started off with Pheasant Woods most capped professional race driver Andy Clarkson setting the bench mark lap times of 1.08.410 for the Mazda 2 race car and then a 1.01.839 in a Club Spec 9 race version all wheel drive Subaru WRX.
The five JA Cup police drivers then commenced their racing laps and were strapped into the race cars and given a session to set their best times.
The first timed lap was in the Mazda 2 front wheel drive race car lead out by leading senior constable Phil Parker first to break the ice.
His glory was short lived though with the fastest Mazda 2 hot lap being recorded by retired senior constable Grahame McGuinness with a 1.10.144 who was just 300ths of a second ahead of the field.
The second session saw the five drivers then drive a full race version of a Club Spec 9 all wheel drive Subaru WRX and also practice a driver change under pressure.
First out was senior constable Parker in the Subaru WRX who set a cracking time of 1.02.895 and was the stand out with a full half a second ahead of rest of the field at the top of the list.
As was discussed with the drivers at the briefing, the winner may not record a fastest single time and consistency was the key to winning and this was the case with the winner being sergeant Scott Murphy recording the two second fastest times of a 1.10.211 in the Mazda and a 1.03.127 in the WRX.
That was enough to take home the JA trophy in a combined time of 2.13.338, but only .016 of a second in front of second place.
Ironically Sgt Murphy works at Campbelltown HWP where Jim Affleck was stationed prior to his passing and its very fitting that the inaugural winner came from there. 2nd and 3rd places were taken out by Retired Senior Constable Graham McGuiness and Leading Senior Constable Phill Parker respectively.
Sgt Murphy then was given the opportunity to race against the STAG and Shelley in the Toyota 86 series race car and gave it everything he could to try and beat them.
He was only a second slower than the STAG and Shelley and put in a find display of race craft when later, the organisers viewed the in-car footage.
It showed sgt Murphy having a number of fights with the steering wheel.
He entertained the spectators with his sideways slides and did his fastest time of the day with a 1.03.010.
A significant donation was made to NSW Police Legacy.
