Kurtis Duffy, 22, of Goulburn, was convicted at Goulburn Local Court on November 25 of destroying or damaging property.
Magistrate Geraldine Beattie told the court it was alleged Duffy had damaged a Toyota Citroen at 9pm on September 14, 2020 while intoxicated. In sentencing, the magistrate took Duffy's early guilty plea into account.
She said there was "nothing social" about Duffy's level of drinking that night, which resulted in "loss of memory and damage" to property. The magistrate told the court, according to police facts, the victim witnessed the defendant dent the side of the vehicle.
"There are consequences, all because you were stupid when you were drunk," she said.
"Your drinking is a problem if it causes problems for other people."
Duffy was fined $750.
