Increased restrictions on SA travellers

Under a new public health direction which came into effect on Thursday, people travelling to the ACT from South Australia must fill out an online declaration at least 24 hours before arrival.

Travellers must declare if they have visited a hot spot in South Australia or had contact a COVID-19 case within the last 14 days.

Those who have had contact must quarantine for 14 days, and those who have not are free to enter the ACT without the need to quarantine.

The following locations in SA have been identified as being of risk:

Travellers arriving from South Australia are required to present a copy of their declaration on arrival,and must carry it with them at all times during their visit.

The new declaration requirement is in lock-step with measures imposed by NSW.

Meanwhile flights between Adelaide and Canberra are becoming scarce.

Qantas said its two daily flights from Adelaide to Canberra were reduced to a single flight as a result of border restrictions and a drop in demand.

Canberra Airport head of aviation Michael Thomson said the airport supported keeping the border between South Australia and the ACT open under the guidance of ACT Health officials.

Until November 25 only essential travel between South Australia and ACT will be permitted due to the state-wide Stay At Home Direction.
