Southern Tablelands showgrounds will share in almost half a million dollars of State Government funding for maintenance and improvement works to showgrounds.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman announced the successful regional showgrounds as part of the NSW Government's Covid-19 stimulus program on Wednesday, October 18. Goulburn, Gunning, Taralga and Yass showgrounds will use the funding to improve facilities and upgrade infrastructure.
"This is an excellent program. It's about supporting local jobs, stimulating the local economy but - most importantly - supporting local communities," Mrs Tuckerman said.
"Our regional communities will benefit from better showground facilities and stronger infrastructure that can serve generations into the future."

Goulburn showground received $336,771 for the installation of a solar system on the Grace-Millsom Function Centre, new amenities at the Peden Pavilion, power upgrades and LED lighting, and cover for the livestock yards.
At Gunning, the showground received $41,140 to fit out a sports amenities block, including the installation of a kitchen - rangehood, partitions and joinery work.
New perimeter fencing will be constructed at the Taralga showground for $28,105, and Yass showground received $27,500 for electrical works.
In 2019-20, across the Southern Highlands and Tablelands, the State Government spent over $1.35 million towards upgrades to regional showgrounds.
The Covid-19 stimulus program has allocated $35.77 million for projects across the state, for works at 228 showgrounds over two years.
"The NSW Government values the central role of showgrounds in regional communities and is thrilled to work hand-in-hand with them to build a more vibrant showground sector," Minister for Water, Housing and Property Melinda Pavey said.
"So far, the Covid-19 stimulus program has supported 1330 jobs on showground projects across the state providing work for tradespeople, suppliers and fabricators, and this further $12.5 million will support more improvements and jobs."
