Goulburn Formal Drive is back again this year to create a memorable experience for students after new COVID-19 guidelines gave the green signal to schools to hold formals.

Donations have started coming in to make the experience of Year 12 students a special one who have faced a tough year due to COVID-19.
People can donate their formal wear, accessories and shoes to help make it a special day for students.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council Youth Services Officer, Caitlin Muddiman, is the driving force behind the initiative which started last year and received a good response from the community.
She feels formal season is an expensive time of the year for families with the pressure to look good and wear expensive dresses. The drive helps to take that burden off the families.
"We have dresses that were donated last year and ones that have been given this year. However, after a difficult year we have had so far, we are hoping to get as many donations as we can," she said.
Students can choose a dress for the formals for free and have the option of keeping it or donating it back after the event.
"We are here to help out the young people as much as we can. COVID-19 has been hard on everyone, but it has been particularly tough on students," she said.
"The lockdown period has been hard for Year 12 students who also had to deal with their HSC exams. So, we are here to do whatever we can do to support them."
The drive will be held at the Old Council Depot at 2 Bourke St on Tuesday, October 27 from 3:30pm - 5pm.
