FIVE more cases of coronavirus have been identified in NSW, reducing fears the state was on track for another cluster similar to the Crossroads Hotel.

Four new overseas acquired cases are in hotel quarantine in the figures, which were recorded by 8pm last night, with the fifth a case of community transmission.
The community case is a household contact of a previously identified case linked to the Lakemba cluster.
The government has also flagged two more positive tests since the 8pm deadline for the latest figures, including alerts for several new venues.
NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said that a child and staff member had tested positive from the Great Beginnings Oran Park childcare centre after the 8pm cut-off, taking the total of locally acquired cases to three.
Those two cases will be included in Saturday's numbers, which will cover the 24 hours to 8pm on Friday evening.
The venues with warnings include the Bargo Hotel, Campbelltown's Spotlight Plaza and Narellan Town Centre.
More than 16,391 tests were conducted in the 24-hour period, up on the day before and taking the total number of tests in NSW during the pandemic to more than 2.8 million.
NSW has had 4137 cases of coronavirus, with 55 deaths recorded. One patient remains in intensive care for treatment.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian flagged that if cases stay low and transmission is contained, the government may announce further easing to restrictions next week.
The easing was initially planned for Thursday, she said yesterday, but double-figure case numbers had precluded any reduction in the measures designed to curb COVID-19's spread.
