Police have fined a P-plate driver after she was detected speeding more than 70km/h over the legal limit near Goulburn yesterday.

Goulburn Highway Patrol officers detected a Volkswagen Golf allegedly travelling at 164km/h in a 110km/h zone on the Federal Highway, Wollogorang, 34km south of Goulburn, at about 4:30pm on October 6.
Police stopped the vehicle a short distance away and spoke to the driver, an 18-year-old woman, who holds a P1 licence and can't legally exceed more than 90km/h.
She was issued with a $2520 fine for the offence of 'P1 driver exceed 90km/h - over 45km/h' and her licence was suspended after six demerit points were deducted.
