Goulburn 2020 commemorates the 200th year since the arrival of Macquarie and his party.
Former Goulburn Regional Art Gallery director Jennifer Lamb's play 'Journey Through Country' will be performed by Lieder Theatre as part of Goulburn 2020.

It is based on Macquarie's journals of his trip through the Mulwaree/Goulburn Plains to Weereewa.
"There were things that were happening here even before the arrival of Macquarie. Goulburn 2020 commemorates 1820 and before and since," she said.
The performance will be held at 3pm on Saturday, October 17 on the Mulwaree Plains, off Lower Sterne Street.
"The play will be filmed and other events will also be recorded which people will have access and can view later," she said.
Other events of Goulburn 2020 include online Indigenous weaving workshops for school students by Ronnie Jordan, a Kalkadoon woman specialising in traditional coil basket weaving including dolls and toys.

Her Excellency the Governor of NSW the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC will pay a visit on October 22, exactly 200 years after her predecessor visited. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event is not open to the public.
As part of Tambelin Independent School Walk to Rocky Hill, students will view the city and surrounding areas and reflect this by making their own landscape artworks. It will be followed by storytelling from Wiradjuri man Larry Brandy.
The Ancient Story of Weereewaa/Lake George, a talk by Patrick de Decker, Emeritus Professor, Research School of Earth Sciences, ANU and another on New Australians in the Goulburn Area - A Wave of Migration 1940s-1960 by Nadia Johnston will be held at the Goulburn Mulwaree Library on October 25 and 25 respectively.
A publication of the 1820/2020 bulletin by History Goulburn and a proposed exhibition by The National Trust at Riversdale is part of the event.
Imagining an 1820 Journey, a History Goulburn walk and talk along Mulwaree River walkway is being planned for October 31.
Meanwhile, the author talk by Bruce Pascoe, author of the book Dark Emu, and a commemoration of the Christian service given by the Reverend Robert Cartwright on October 29, 1820 at Bundong/Lake Bathurst had to be cancelled.
