Pejar Dam is a put and take fishery and is regularly replenished with Australian Bass
The Wollondilly River fed dam was one of many sites across the state stocked by government hatcheries for the benefit of anglers. It is also supplied with Rainbow and Brown Trout.

These fish were produced at the Port Stephens Fisheries Center which has produced Australian Bass for around 20 years.
The extremely young fish are around 25 millimetres long and it will take up to three years before they grow to regulation size, which is over 35 centimetres.
The estuarine spawning fish are hugely popular to stock dams, NSW Department of Industries, education officer, Steve Thurston said.
"It is a very productive dam, and it is recently filled after the drought and that is when dams are the most productive," he said.
"The dam is a very accessible dam, and is easy for family's to fish, and you can be expected to catch trophy Trout and Bass from previous years."
"In a dam, you can fish all year long, in rivers, there is a four-month closure on Bass fishing for when they breed."
Water infrastructure including dams and bridges impacted the migration of Bass from estuaries after spawning, and the dam relies mostly on stocking.
