The Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman has commended locals for taking up a range of fee-free vocational education courses to assist the community in recovering from the recent bushfires.

The NSW Government made the fee-free training available to assist in the clean-up of residential and commercial properties damaged or destroyed, as well as boosting credentials for people in the area.
The Goulburn electorate has 39 people who have completed a course.
"From Bundanoon and Wingello to Bungonia and Windellama - as well as the perpetual smoke covering the region, our communities were all affected by the bushfires which swept through the area," Mrs Tuckerman said.
"They had an overwhelming impact.

"These training courses are specific to recovery and resilience.
"I am glad so many locals took them up and I'm sure they have put the skills to good use.
"The skills have gone toward rebuilding and repairing homes, businesses and other critical infrastructure."
Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education Geoff Lee said the training came from first class providers and were selected based on consultation with local government, businesses and the community.
"First aid, fencing, forklift driving, chainsaw training, white card, and civil construction were just some of the courses available to bushfire affected communities across the state," Mr Lee said.
"They have equipped communities in NSW with the relevant skills to recover from the bushfires as quickly as possible."
The courses that Goulburn locals have completed include Chainsaw and Fell Trees, Plant Operations and Licensing and Civil Construction.
