Ron Cummins, councillor at the Upper Lachlan Shire Council resigned from his position on the council citing integrity issues.

In his resignation letter, published in the August business papers, Cr Cummins stated his values and integrity are not aligned with the current council.
Cr Cummins has been an outspoken member of the current council, however, he felt he was unable to represent members of the community who elected him.
Cr Cummins' letter stated, "I was originally elected for a four-year term and my four years are up. I never had the intention of standing again, younger more enthusiastic people are needed on this council."
Mayor John Stafford showed his appreciation for Cr Cummins' four-year term at the council meeting.
"It's a big onus on all of us and it's not something anyone takes lightly.
"A big thank you for his service," Mayor Stafford said.
Local government elections were postponed from September this year, due to COVID-19.
His resignation will take the number of elected councillors to eight.
