The Goulburn resident has been raised in a family which has been involved in community activities.
"My parents are my role model. My father was an achiever in businesses and was involved in several activities in the community. I have grown up in such an environment and it's a part of me as well," she said.
She has been the president of Goulburn Show since 2012.
"Goulburn Show started in 1880 and is one of the traditional events that bring people together in the community," Mrs Waugh said.
"Everyone can relate to the show and it has so many varieties of different elements in it that it's appealing to everyone."
The Goulburn Show is held in March and Mrs Waugh feels "lucky" that they were able to go ahead with the show this year.
"Only a handful of shows were held at that time and we were lucky to be one of them. Most of the other shows got cancelled due to bushfires," she said.
"A week after the show was held, the shutdown due to COVID-19 started. We are still not sure what is going to happen next year with restrictions in place."
Her association with the Goulburn Show has been over a decade.
"My association with the Goulburn Show evolved over a period of time. I used to exhibit arts and crafts at the show and later became a part of the committee. I have been the president for over seven years now," she said.
She is also involved in Lilac Times committee, pony club and Rural Fire Brigade.
Her portrait by photographer Tina Milson is part of the 'The Art of Ageing 2020' exhibition.
The exhibition celebrates the contribution of people over 50 years make to their communities and seeks to increase their participation in the arts and cultural activities, as part of the NSW Ageing Strategy.
She wanted to choose those who give back to the community.
