For Kalina Koloff, the incoming Chief Executive Officer for Canberra Region Joint Organisation (CRJO), recovery work in the communities is on her mind.

"There is a long and significant period of recovery ahead of us. Several parts of the region are looking to recover from the devastating bushfires and its ongoing impact on the community," she said.
"After COVID-19, businesses are yet to recover economically. Agricultural communities are facing shortage of workers and difficulty in accessing the markets.
"We need to think what we could do to revitalise and stimulate recovery for the region. That includes jobs, new ways of doing business etc. It includes tapping into bigger programs and incentives on offer by the government to ensure that the region is well-supported and well-represented."
She starts in her new role in August and is "excited to begin work with CRJO".
"Having worked on key tourism, infrastructure and community projects I am delighted to join the CRJO at a time when there are so many opportunities for renewal and recovery," she said.
She brings extensive managerial experience from her time within the NSW public service and local government sectors, and a reputation for strategic planning, driving innovation and the ability to manage complex projects.
Chair of CRJO, Yass Valley Mayor Rowena Abbey, said that she is looking forward to Kalina Koloff joining the organisation from the beginning of August.
"Kalina comes to the CRJO with a wealth of relevant experience, most recently with projects such as a tourism partnership framework for the ACT and South East NSW, Inland Rail, and then with coordination of the Bushfire Recovery Clean Up Program, managing a team across the Southern Region and Snowy Mountains," she said.
"We were attracted to her extensive experience within communication and engagement, and in particular her project management focus which is essential to the CRJO.
"The board and myself are firmly of the view that she has the ability to take CRJO to a new level of service delivery across the region, ensuring we are able to advocate strongly to all levels of government and that we are financially sustainable moving forward."
The Canberra Region Joint Organisation is a network to help drive better planning, economic development and service delivery in regional NSW.
The organisation provides a structured way for local councils, state agencies and other stakeholders to collaborate, plan, set strategic priorities, support a shared vision and deliver important projects, both short and long term, on a regional scale, by working across traditional council boundaries.
Membership includes, Bega Valley Shire Council, Eurobodalla Shire Council, Goulburn Mulwaree Council, Hilltops Shire Council, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, Snowy Monaro Regional Council, Upper Lachlan Shire Council, Wingecarribee Shire Council and Yass Valley Council.
