Goulburn's AP&H Society receives funding for forklift

In Goulburn, MP Wendy Tuckerman announced $25,000 for the Goulburn AP&H Society to buy a forklift.

The money comes courtesy of the 2019 Community Building Partnership.

"There isn't a more quintessential regional community event than the annual show," Mrs Tuckerman said in a statement.

"The grant will assist the Goulburn AP&H Society to purchase a forklift for use during the important show season - as well as for other users for the recreation area year-round. The equipment will save money in the long run by removing the burden of hire fees."

Society president, Jacki Waugh, said the AP&H only recently bought the forklift, which was delivered this week.

"We already have volunteers signing up to get their licence," she said.

"Our own forklift at the recreation grounds will save a lot of headaches around paperwork and hire fees. It will see benefits beyond the AP&H Society because we will be allowing all event coordinators at the Recreation Area access to the equipment."

Meantime, the same program has awarded $25,742 for the Crookwell Showground to install tiered seating in three areas.

Gunning Showground also received $44,513 for repairs to its hall. It will fund guttering and roof repairs, re-pointing of brickwork, new awnings and electrical upgrades.

Both facilities previously received a total $762,853 in state funding for improvements.
