RFS Southern Tablelands operations officer Lachlan Gilchrist said their core responsibility and primary focus was to look after the community.
"We are limiting non-urgent activities to stop the spread of the virus," he said.
"This will have no impact on our operational availability and there will be no change in our service to the community.
"These measures will ensure our firefighters will be available during this health crisis."
The NSW RFS said all sites were still operational and the State Operations Centre was accessible only to essential personnel.
The following non-essential activities have been restricted: medal presentations, attendance at conferences and external events, brigade meetings, community engagement events, training events and attendance at brigade stations, fire control centres and headquarters.
