In what was a first for this year's Aquathon Series, athletes were treated to almost perfect racing conditions on Tuesday with a cooler easterly wind providing welcome relief from the last month's heat waves.

As a result there were personal bests recorded across all four divisions, many without the competitor's knowledge.
Despite the season entering its final two months, new competitors are still signing up to have a try.
This week's new additions were Joshua Stapleton and Robert Russell, who both joined the intermediate distance (400m/4km) and slotted in nicely, with Josh recording 29:40 and Rob 35:42 in their first outings.
In the novice section (100m/2km) the juniors continue to blitz through the course with youthful enthusiasm but the older brigade of Jacqui Holland, Peter Tapp, Jill McDonald and Fiona Banham stoically keep plugging along posting consistent times showing that this division is open to all ages.
Evan Goad once again recorded the fastest time for the sprint distance race (200m/4km) with Karla Calleja showing fine form winning the women's race from Kelly McKellar and Violet Ottley.
An amazing field of 25 took part in the intermediate division race (400m/4km) eleven of whom broke through the 30 minute barrier.
Anthony Dorsett , Mitch Drapalski, Chris Leah, Shiralee Cousins and the team of Mel Goad and Mary Hyland were some to record season bests. Young Nicholas Ottley was fastest in the pool with a lightning-quick 400m swim of around six minutes.
The absence of a few big hitters from the long distance race (600m/6km) didn't show, with five out the first six place-getters posting season bests.
Kurt Warn was the victor ahead of Andrew Oberg despite the latter grabbing the fastest run split (albeit by one second).
The veteran of the field, Kerry Baxter rolled back the years with a solid third placing. Corey Petersen once again showed improvement narrowly missing out on a sub 39 minute result.
Olivia Stutchbury was fastest female and fourth fastest overall thanks to a blistering 600m swim time of nine minutes 48 seconds coupled with a solid run helping her to smash through the 39-minute barrier for the first time in the ladies' race for many years.
