The ninth annual Gordon Hope Memorial Golf Day took on a different complexion this year, but still proved as popular as ever.

The event traditionally brings golfers in from around the region to raise money for the Australian Melanoma Research Foundation, and last year it saw more than $2,500 raised.
In 2020 the event was dedicated to raising money for bushfire relief, to help combat the impact of the devastating fires which have ravaged NSW in recent months.
The Golf Day was held on Sunday, January 19, at the Goulburn Golf Club, and saw 78 members and visiting players turn out to show their support.
In an effort to increase the amount of funds raised, organisers decided to cut back on trophies this year, which appeared to have an impact as the day brought in a total of $3,053.60.
The funds will be distributed between the RFS, the Country Women's Association, and WIRES appeals.
In an email to the Post, the Hope family wished to "sincerely thank the members and visitors who supported the golf day, the Goulburn Golf Club who donated the course and facilities, Groove Golf who contributed to the trophies, and all the helpers on the day, particularly the barbecue ladies."
The winners on the day were Norm Aubrey, Robert Aubrey, Dean Gray, and Mick Mulligan. The runners-up were D. Picker, P. Secomb, M. Chapman, and W. Stephenson.
The Memorial Day is held every year in remembrance of Gordon Hope, a former president and board member of the golf club who served with distinction for many years.
