Raheem Abdul steals the show with six wickets as Hibo Gold dominate Crookwell

Abdul scored 88 runs opening the batting, and took six wickets which included a hattrick.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Abdul and Thomas Pender (65 runs) put on a opening partnership of 125 before the latter fell to John Rogers.

Gold's middle order batsmen Scott Boughton and Ben Staples both scored half centuries to steer their side to a score of 6/322 in their allocated 45 overs.

There wasn't much to show from Crookwell's bowling attack, with Bradley Smith the only multiple wicket-taker with two.

Their economy rate wasn't too flash, either, with one bowler going at under five an over and the next-best going just above seven an over.

Crookwell's batting wasn't any better as they plummeted to a total of of just 53 runs in an innings that included seven ducks.

Jacob McGregor top-scored in the innings with 16, but it was Abdul who stole the show with his 6/11 off five overs.

James Kent also chimed in with a brace of wickets.

In the other game, the Workers Stags beat Hibo Green by two runs at Prell Oval.

The Stags' final total was 9/257 which was helped by half centuries to Jack Murdoch and Zac Croker.

It was tight up until the finish, but the Stags scraped home thanks to Daniel Cooper, who was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.

After six rounds of cricket, Hibo Green stay top of the ladder despite their loss, followed by Crookwell, then Gold and the Stags.

The next round of fixtures on Saturday, November 30 sees Gold play the Stags at Seiffert Oval and Crookwell play Green at The Grange.
