The annual Marulan Kite Festival is set to add colour to your weekend and celebrate Spring Equinox.

"It is a free community event. I want everybody to come along and be a part of the fun and see what Marulan has to offer," Sharon Makin, secretary of the Kite Festival committee said.
The festival will officially open on Sunday, September 22 at 9am with a welcome from the president of the committee.

"It will be followed by celebration of spring equinox which involves role playing and acting by the community members over things surrounding spring," she added.
People can enjoy the day with live performances by the winners of Buskout! 2019, Megan, 16, and Mackenzie, 17.
The day promises to be a fun one with activities including kite workshop, kite parade, kite running, Billy Boil Cup at the Terminus Hotel, children's per show, care and bike show and market stalls.
This year marks the return of 'Bol Running' competition in which participants will be able to test their strength by battling the wind and pulling a parachute strapped to them.
The students from Marulan Public School will perform on hits from 'Lion King' followed by the announcement of winners of the Art competition.
The Kite Festival will be held on Sunday from 9am to 3pm. Entry to the event is free and gold coin donations are welcome.
