The Goulburn District Hockey Association has shown their commitment to the future of hockey in the region, pledging $200,000 to a trust fund for a new facility.

Council and the community are developing a new hockey facility in Goulburn, as a result of the Goulburn Workers Club's decision not to maintain or continue to make the existing facilities available for use by the local hockey community.
Sharney Fleming, Nadine Ward and Mandi Smith presented the cheque myself, deputy mayor Peter Walker and general manager Warwick Bennett at council last week. The money will be held by council in a trust fund and will be used for the future community-owned hockey fields.
Design work is well underway for a regional hockey complex at Carr Confoy, with two water-based fields, competition level lighting and a pavilion that will include change rooms, canteen, storerooms and spectator amenities.
Hockey in the region needs a new home before the start of the 2022 season, and the council has been working together with the hockey community to achieve a brilliant outcome that will be able to host regional and state level carnivals.
This generous donation from Goulburn District Hockey Association shows the commitment of the hockey community to the new facility. We look forward to gaining further support and putting forward a compelling case for grant funding in the coming months as we work towards approval of the development application.
Leggett Park mural opening
Community members are invited to the official opening of the Aboriginal Mural at Leggett Park, Goulburn. This project was sponsored by Goulburn Place Plan and designed and painted by local Aboriginal artist, Aryssa McAlister.
The mural represents the local Aboriginal creation story of the Wollondilly River, Gurangatch and Mirrigan. It will be launched during NAIDOC Week, with a BBQ and activities for children as part of the celebrations. We hope to see you at Leggett Park on Thursday 11th July at 11am.
Rage Cage complex open
Victoria Park Health and Wellbeing precinct just keeps getting better, with the rage cage multi-sport court now open for use!
This facility was funded through the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund, and provides a space for sports such as soccer, handball, basketball, cricket and more. It's a brilliant facility for our young people to use, and any time spent kicking a ball rather than playing on an electronic device is a great result.
Later this year we will be holding an official opening of the skate park extension, the rage cage and the Seiffert Oval Pavilion, with a community barbecue and a great day being planned.
