The group is an international organisation who operate at a grassroots level to inform people about climate change and hopefully create enough political will for the issue to be taken seriously by politicians.
Tom Hunt was a guest speaker at the launch in Goulburn at the Workers Club on May 31.
"We want to make friends and persuade politicians to take climate change seriously," Mr Hunt said.
He said he joined the group three years ago after studying the science
"I started studying the science and I am just horrified by what I have found out and that our politicians are ignoring this," he said.
"The UN invited all the nations of the world to do something about this 25 years ago and nothing much has happened.
"We are starting a CCL group in Goulburn. We want to talk to politicians in every electorate in the country."
He said the CCL can help train citizens to talk to politicians, understand the science and the reality of what is happening and "provide the political will to create a livable planet."
Fellow member Ian Anderson said when he joined he found there was no pin on the map for Goulburn.
"This is an international group. I was made aware of this by some Canadian friends visiting me," he said.
"I have grandchildren and I am worried about their future and where the world is heading."
"It is no longer hairy, fairy stuff. We are at crisis point and we need to be able to do things.
"This is a people movement to influence politicians. To help them understand the urgency of the situation."
A young member of the group Hunter Carlberg from Taralga, said he was interested in joining a bigger movement
"I would like to bring it out to Taralga, so I am here to learn some language to communicate the message better," he said.
