The popular Goulburn Food Truck Fair which drew about 14,000 people to Goulburn Marketplace earlier this year is back again for the weekend.
This year Aussie Nightmarkets will be holding the two day event in the Goulburn Recreational Centre on December 2 and 3.
About 96 per cent of participants had supported the return of the food truck park via a Goulburn Post poll conducted at the beginning of the year.
Types of food trucks expected to return include burgers, dessert trucks, chicken wings, BBQ and an array of international foods.
There were a total of 28 vendors last year. The fair will be open from 3 to 10pm.
Aussie Nightmarkets is run by partners Phaly and Samuel Adams. The event in Goulburn last year was the first time the pair had organised a fair outside of Sydney.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council acting coordinator for marketing and events Bec O’Neill said having family events a week after entertainment such as Picture and Popcorn in the Park enhances the engagement of outdoor events.
She cited great weather and a fantastic attendance for the Disney Lion King screening in Belmore Park.
Lion King themed corflute animals scattered throughout the park and giant popcorn boxes could be found on each corner courtesy of event support partner Signage One.
“Leading up to Christmas it’s nice for families to get together in outdoor spaces and spend time together. We like to focus on family events and not have people worry about leaving kids at home,” Ms O’Neill said.
This is the first time the Visitors Information Centre has released a dedicated Springs Event guide for residents and visitors.
“The Spring event series is a perfect place to support our communities and our events. We like to support non-for-profit community events,” she said.
“So far we have had a lot of great feedback, the community really love it and are excited to know what’s happening in advance for the district.”
