A new dog park will provide a space for the community to meet, along with their four legged friends. The off-leash areas, in which Goulburn Mulwaree Council has heavily invested, have proven popular in Victoria Park, Eastgrove and Jack White Park at Bradfordville.
The new playground at Garfield Park will include a double swing and a climbing structure underneath a shade sail, complete with a great slide.
The council’s parks and gardens team will also be planting a number of new trees within the park and in the surrounding area as part of the upgrade.
Mayor Bob Kirk expects the project to bring life back to the park.
“We have already seen just how popular dog parks are, and we felt West Goulburn was a great space for the next one,” he said.
“New play equipment will complete the upgrade, and I’m sure residents will be pleased with the result.
“The council is also calling for tenders to construct the Adventure Playground in Victoria Park which we know the community is looking forward to. In the 2017/18 financial year we are also undertaking upgrades at the skate park, as well as budgeting for further playground renewal.”
The off-leash area and the new play equipment are expected to be completed by the end of April.
